All instructors are extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. We also make it a point to maintain a comfortable student-to-instructor ratio. Even then, if you want to change instructors in the middle of the course, let us know. We will make every arrangement so that your learning experience is comfortable from start to finish. Our flight school Bakersfield considers it extremely important to provide individualized attention to every student. We always keep in mind that people absorb the lessons differently.  Some learners may grasp the concepts quickly, while others may require more time. It is extremely important that you get along well with the instructor for the flying lessons to show results. Feel free to ask the instructor any question that comes to your mind, even if they are somewhat personal. Up in the sky, you are going to have to trust the instructor with your life. You should never proceed unless you are sure of the credibility of the instructor. Instructors have different teaching styles. You should be comfortable with that of your preferred instructor to start the training program.

Ask the potential instructor questions such as years of flying experience and whether or not he has had any unpleasant experience with the aircraft.

Never neglect the importance of verifying an instructor at the helicopter flight school. You can do this online by checking authorized directories for Certified Flight Instructors. Look up the database of the AOPA (Aircrafts Owner and Pilots Association). In addition, you should cross-check the information at the SAFE (Society for Aviation and Flight Educators) database. Confirming these vital aspects would ensure that you have found the right person. Approved Training Programs

What are the differences between FAR Part 61 and part 141 trainings? These are essentially two different methods to approach the training program. Both methods require similar minimum standards to acquire your pilot license, but the processes are slightly different. In both systems, you will be trained by an FAA-licensed flight instructor.Learning how to fly a helicopter can open up attractive career opportunities. You can work in emergency medical services or apply for a position in law enforcement. You can also get in touch with a tour operator and fly your helicopter every day over mesmerizing natural vistas. We operate an authorized helicopter flight school, approved by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

Learning with us can help you seek employment not only in the USA but also abroad. Our training curriculum involves both Part 61 and Part 141 of the FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation). In addition, you would receive specialized helicopter flight courses. These include mountain flying lessons and external load operations.  However, as for FAR Part 61, the instructors are free to follow their methods and can train you anywhere. On the other hand, FAR Part 141 training is provided according to a proven FAA-approved curriculum.

It depends on your long-term goals and temperament regarding which flight training program is ideal. Students who cannot commit to regular training sessions due to time constraints are usually the best candidates for FAR Part 61. As the instructor is not limited by the time limit to complete a certain syllabus, the student can learn how to fly on personal terms. Also, it is usually the choice for students who are not learning to become career pilots. If you want to be a private pilot, flying your own helicopter for recreation, the FAR Part 41 training program may be the best option. Contact us  if you are confused about which training program is the right option for you. We would assess your criteria to suggest the best training program suitable for your objectives.

Private Pilot Training

Private pilot training is the mandatory step one for every serious helicopter pilot. This training would ensure that you can fly the helicopter for personal recreation or take friends and family members on joyrides. Before you learn to take that first solo ride on the helicopter, there are certain vital aspects that you should practice.

We would teach you vital lessons on maneuvering your aircraft and ensure you have the confidence to fly it solo. The training includes important lessons on basic helicopter operations, night flying, and heliport operations. Our training will also ensure that you are ready for cross-country navigation on your aircraft.

Commercial Pilot Training

Our training schedule will help you get your commercial pilot certificate. Commercial pilot training is the next level to the private pilot license mentioned above. In this module, you get to learn advanced skills and maneuvers. These include lessons in advanced aerodynamics and helicopter power management. One of the key aspects of commercial training is learning how to land in confined areas and pinnacles. Learning to do off-airport landings is a vital skill in commercially flying a helicopter. You never know; you might have to helm a rescue mission on the top of a snow-capped mountain.

Again, you may have to rescue people stuck in a flood situation or from the roof of a burning building. The training we provide at the flight school in Bakersfield will be crucial in handling such critical assignments. Learning to use good judgment in helicopter control is an important aspect of mastering the flying skill. Talking with our veteran instructors, you can benefit from practical hands-on tips you can not find elsewhere.

Instrument Rating

Instrument rating refers to the specific skill set whereby a pilot can maneuver an aircraft solely based on the instruments inside the aircraft. This eventually ensures that the pilot is not restricted to flying in good weather conditions. The instrument rating equips the pilot to fly even in low visibility conditions. The rating ensures the pilot can fly the aircraft in cloud, fog, rain, or otherwise low visibility conditions. In the real world, as a commercial pilot, you may never fly in instrument conditions. Nevertheless, it is an important skill to have both as a private and a commercial pilot. At our flight school Bakersfield, we utilize high-end instrument-equipped aircraft to teach you the necessary skills. The training is categorized into two sections. In the first part, you learn how to maintain a certain altitude, direction, and airspeed, relying solely on information from instruments inside the cockpit.

Online flight simulation is an important aspect of the training program. These simulators are available at a variety of proficiency levels and price points. At the flight school in Bakersfield, we use the best-in-class flight simulators at every phase of the training program. We are among the best online flight schools that you would find. Training with us prepares you for all kinds of practical situations that may arise when you are piloting a helicopter.

We encourage you to consult with us in detail so that you know the type of learning experience we offer. Our dedicated approach to training modules makes us one of the best flight schools online. We deploy full-motion sophisticated flight simulators to offer the complete experience to aspiring pilots. You need to decide on the type of training you require.

You can progress with home study guides facilitated primarily by online flight simulators unless you are comfortable handling an actual aircraft. However, some students prefer a classroom setting and one-to-one interaction with the instructor.

Online Flight Simulation

You also practice emergency procedures in simulations for instrument meteorological conditions at this stage. This training would also impart fundamental skills on what to do if the instruments you rely on suddenly fail.

In the second part of the training, you practice taking off in the simulated instrument meteorological conditions by relying only on your instrument. At our flight school Bakersfield, we would arrange trips to different airports to practice different types of instrument approaches and gather valuable experience. On completion of the training, the instructor will evaluate whether you have the requisite ground knowledge. Once you and your instructor are certain about your skills, you will be allowed to take the helicopter for an instrument check ride.

According to the FAR Part 141 training module, a pilot requires a minimum of 35 hours of flight training, along with 30 hours of ground training. These are the minimum hour requirements set by the FAA, but you can take more since every stuent learns at a different speed.

Decide on the Type of Training

We will help you decide on the type of training most suitable according to your objectives. Whether you decide to obtain a private pilot certificate or want to work as a commercial helicopter pilot, we are here to help you. We also encourage aspiring pilots to complete instrument rating because it is an invaluable skill to assist in real-world scenarios. The duration and type of training will depend on your objectives. For instance, earning a sports pilot certificate is a basic module and will typically require less time than a private pilot license. However, you are entitled to fewer piloting privileges as a sports pilot. Your flight schedule will be limited to only certain airspaces, and you will be able to take only one passenger.

The private pilot certificate, on the other hand, lets you handle bigger aircraft. Also, you would need an official medical certificate issued by an aviation medical examiner to obtain a private pilot certificate. However, a sports pilot can handle an aircraft on a valid US driver’s license.

Nevertheless, in any flight training module, you are required to undertake a practical test at the end of training. We would furnish you with appropriate study materials based on your objectives and type of training. The aspiring pilot can also review these requirements in the FAA’s Airman Certification Standards. We often handle inquiries as to which type of flight school is better, the FAA Part 61 or Part 141. Both options are good, but they have their own characteristics. You may prefer the flexibility of the Part 61 training module or you may find yourself a better candidate for the structured Part 141 training system. We encourage students to talk with us openly during their first visit. Our representative will explain the options to you, helping you to choose the right way to train
